possible return?

February 25 2011

After a ten day break the Green and Whites travel to Tranmere this weekend hoping to amend a run of form which has seen them lose their last three games, seeing them positioned precariously above the relegation zone.

2011 began excellently for Yeovil as they lost just one game throughout the whole of January, but so far February has been more troublesome losing three of the four games they have played thus far.

However, asides from the loss to then bottom side Dagenham & Redbridge both the other defeats came against sides in the top ten, as the Glovers faltered against Charlton Athletic and Peterborough United.

Tranmere are two places above Yeovil in 17th, with four points separating the two teams but the Green and Whites will be hoping to reduce that deficit as they to look to pull clear of the bottom four.

The Super Whites are coming into the came on the back of two defeats although prior to that they have been on storming form, including a 3-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday.

In terms of injuries Yeovil manager Terry Skiverton will still be without leading assist provider Andy Welsh, with Yeovil only scoring the once with his absence so far. Skiverton will have to sweat it out on the fitness of leading goal scorer Dean Bowditch as well, as he continues to struggle with a multitude of injuries.

Tranmere will be without defender Aaron Cresswell who is struggling with a hip injury, so the impressively named Zoumana Bakayogo is likely to deputise. Their only other absentee is midfielder Joss Labadie, who is suspended for tomorrow afternoons game.

The Glovers won the reverse fixture 3-1 back at Huish Park and will be hoping for a repeat performance against a battling Les Parry Tranmere.

If you aren't making the trip to Prenton Park you can listen to the game on BBC Radio Somerset 99.5FM, with a match report following later here on Glover Lover.
