Match Preview: Sheffield Wednesday v. Yeovil Town

possible start?

After losing their first game of 2011 Yeovil travel to Hillsborough this evening looking to get back to winning ways against mid-table Sheffield Wednesday.

Both sides are looking to bounce back from disappointing defeats at the weekend. Yeovil only lost 1-0 to Rochdale at Huish Park, but the Owls suffered an humiliating 4-0 away defeat to Leyton Orient.

The fixture itself was originally scheduled for a few days after Christmas, but the weather meant the game could never take place.

On paper, the game is more open than it may possibly have been in late December, as Wednesday then lied in 2nd position, but a blip in their form has seen them fall to 12th in nPower League One five points adrift of the play-offs.

Terry Skiverton is likely to name an unchanged side despite the loss to Rochdale, although Oli Johnson may be pushing for a start after impressing as a substitute versus the Dale.

The only absentees for Yeovil will be Craig Alcock who continues his struggle with a back injury, and Jean-Paul Kalala who completes the third of his four match ban.

Sheffield Wednesday have a few more injury concerns with midfielder Tommy Miller missing out due to a calf injury. Defensive duo Lewis Buxton and Jon Ostemobor both remain on the sidelines, in what will be a weakened Owls defence after captain Darren Purse left to join Millwall.

If you aren't travelling to Hillsborough you can listen to the game on BBC Radio Somerset 99.5FM or you can follow my personal Twitter account for match updates. A match report will follow later on Glover Lover.
