Match Preview: Yeovil Town v. Rochdale

good run of form

January 22 2011

Yeovil Town will be looking to extend their unbeaten run to six games this afternoon against a play-off pushing Rochdale at Huish Park.

Remarkably, the Glovers haven't conceded a singe goal in the last five games, in a run of form seeing them win three and draw two in nPower League One.

However, they will face a sterner test against the Dale, who currently lie in 13th position and just three points off of the lucrative play-offs.

If the Green and Whites do manage to overcome Rochdale it will be their first double over a side this season, as the Glovers produced a then rare away victory to take all three points from Spotland thanks to a Luke Freeman goal.

In terms of injuries manager Terry Skiverton has no new concerns, with the only injured player being captain Craig Alcock, who continues his struggle with a back injury which has hampered his entire season. Jean-Paul Kalala completes the third of a four match suspension, whilst Adam Virgo looks to have overcome the injury he sustained earlier in the month.

The January transfer market is often a busy time of year, and Rochdale have certainly made the most of the opportunity to freshen up their squad. Manager Keith Hill has brought in well travelled striker Liam Dickinson, who once cost Derby County £750,000. At the other end of the pitch goalkeeper Owain fon Williams joined from Stockport County, with regular 'keeper Josh Lillis being recalled to parent club Scunthorpe United.

It was against the Dale that Yeovil played their first ever game in League Football, walking away from Spotland with a memorable victory. They couldn't repeat the feat back in Somerset however, with Bartosz Tarachulski and Lee Johnson scoring in a 2-2 draw at Huish Park back in 2005.

Tickets are available on match day, although you will be subject to a charge increase. If you're not travelling to the game you can listen to BBC Radio Somerset 99.5FM with full match commentary.

A match report will follow later on Glover Lover.
