Di Matteo runs the rule over Argentinian defender

Roberto Di Matteo

Sky Sports reports that Dons have taken Argentinian defender Facundo De Martis on trial. De Martis, 21, has previously spent time on trial with Birmingham City and is without a club as he looks for a move to Europe.

Sky Sports report that the defender impressed Blues boss Alex McLeish but that De Martis was not what they were looking for at that point in time. De Martis holds an Italian passport so there would be no work permit issues in completing a move.

De Martis is a relative unknown but started his career at Estudiantes, before moving to lower league Argentinian side Penarol. Sky Sports also report that Spanish giants Atletico Madrid have previously watched the youngster.
