7. Mark Wright

Position: Midfielder

Date of Birth: 24/02/1982

Nationality: English

Previous clubs: Walsall, Nuneaton (loan)

After leaving Walsall following seven years' service, Wrighty enjoyed the best season of his career under Paul Ince, bagging 13 league goals as the Dons won League Two.

The definition of a confidence player, at his best Wright is a real threat, as he quickly showed early on in his Dons career with an outstanding performance against Championship outfit Ipswich Town in the Carling Cup. Unfortunately Mark is maybe easier to nullify than others in the Dons squad, and how far he goes in the game ultimately depends on whether or not he can find some real consistency.

Nevertheless he did finish the 2007/08 season as the Dons top scorer and some of his 13 goals were truly vital late strikes that turned several draws into wins. Having started the 2008/09 season under Roberto Di Matteo as a regular, and initially impressing despite a shortage of goals, he will face stiff competition on the right wing with new signings Luke Chadwick and Jason Puncheon providing genuine quality on either flank, as well as the revitalised Jemal Johnson.
