O'Driscoll: Job half done

Gaffer: Sean O'Driscoll
By Robbo May 11 2008
DONCASTER Rovers manager Sean O'Driscoll has admitted that the "job is only half done", following Rovers' goalless draw with Southend United in the First Leg of the Coca-Cola League One Play-Offs, a game which saw key striker Paul Heffernan red carded.
Doncaster manager Sean O'DriscollTHE Warrington born former Bournemouth manager O'Driscoll, was pleased with his Doncaster side's performance at Roots Hall, as he welcomes Steve Tilson's Southend to the Keepmoat Stadium next Friday for the Second Leg, following a goalless first game.

But O'Driscoll admitted that just because the game would be infront of the home faithful, doesn't mean that it would be an easy victory, as Southend proved in the first Play-Off game of the year last time out.

He said: "They are a good side and it will be a difficult game at home.

"I can't say that we are favourites just because we've drawn the first leg.

"It's only half time and the job is only half done.

"I didn't see the sending off but the referee said Paul had used his head and he will receive an automatic suspension and that's a shame because he came on and played very well."

It was a case of mission accomplished at Roots Hall on a warm Friday evening, as O'Driscoll said before thegame that the most important aim of the game was that Neil Sullivan didn't concede. And he didn't.

After the game, Donny's gaffer admitted that Richie Wellens missed the game due to a hernia problem, that meant the midfield magician had to withdraw from the game, moments before the team coach departed.

Wellens is 50/50 for the return leg, and will be judged as the the week draws to a close.
