"THIS is a disaster" says Simon Davey after watching his Barnsley side drop out of the cup at the first hurdle against League One strugglers Crewe Alexandra.

"We are very disappointed tonight. We had enough chances to finish three games but if you don't take them then you get punished. That was not good enough. We have to take those chances.

"We did not play well in the first half but were better and there was only one team in it after the break. The damage was done in that first half really and we should have put our chances away.

"If you have to take a positive from the game then you can look at Diego Leon's performance but that was the one thing really.

"We are looking forward now and want to put this behind us with all three points on Saturday. This is a disaster and we are all very disappointed. We had a lot of fans here tonight and we are all disappointed for them".
