Hull slipped into the relegation zone with a 1-0 home defeat to Birmingham. Birmingham were on top for most of the game and could've won by more goals if it wasn't for the impressive form of Hull keeper Boaz Myhill. It was a game Hull really should have been lokking to get something from and this early season form will be a worry to the fans .

Hull had the 1st real chance of the game when Stephen Hunt hit a powerful swerving shot from 25 yards, Joe Hart was equal to it. Myhill was called into action for the 1st time in the 11th minute , when he got down well to prevent Chucho for scoring , Andy dawson scrabbled the ball clear following Myhill's Parry. Myhill produced an even better save on 14 minutes when he tipped Lee Bowyer's curling shot over the bar.

Geovanni had a shot which went wide as Hull looked to force an opening. Chucho had the final chance of the half his powerful shot from just outside the area was tipped over by Myhill

Half Time: Hull 0-0 Birmingham

Altidore had the 1st chance of the half for Hull when he cut in from the right, but his low shot was saved by Hart at his near post. Keith Fahey had the 1st chance for Birmingham when he headed McSheffrey's cross just wide. In the 58th minute Vennegoor of Hesselink set up Geovanni, but Hart was equal to his shot.

Myhill had to be at his best to stop Stuart Parnaby when he raced into the box. Kamil Zayatte also most put into his net but it went wide for a corner from which Myhill again was on hand to deny Bowyer from close range.

Yet again Myhill was at his best when in the 74th minute  he tipped away a Chucho effort as Birmingham broke on the counter attack. But from the resulting corner Birmingham went in front. Garry O'Connor met the cross with his head to make it 1-0 to the visitors . Hull almost got an equaliser late on when Seyi Olofinjana hit the bar with a header from a corner. Geovanni also missed a great chance moments earlier.
