Hull suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Sunderland on Saturday leaving them 17th in the table. Hull went one down when Darren Bent Fired Home a penalty , Hull did pull a goal back when Zayatte scored from a corner but Hull collapsed in the second half and conceded another 3 times to end up on the wrong end of a 4-1 scoreline.
Hull had the 1st chance of the game despite Sunderland having much of the Early Possession, Geovanni's shot from distance forced a save from Craig Gordon. However, Sunderland took the lead on 13 minutes when Craig Fagan Handled in the box , Darren Bent stepped up to fire home to make it 1-0. Kamel Ghilas had a chance to draw City level when he beat the offside trap to latch onto a long ball over the top, but he couldn't connect with the ball and Sunderland were able to clear.
On 37 minutes Hull had another chance to draw level Stephen Hunt's free kick found Zayatte but Craig Gordon was equal to his header. Seyi Olofinjana also went close with a near post header but it went over. The Tigers were level before the break when Zayatte met a corner and powered a header in off the post. Hull could have even been leading at the half Craig Fagan had a great chance but he couldn't get enough power on his header.Half Time: Hull1-1 Sunderland
Sunderland had the first chance of the second half when Bent looked to feed Campbell, but Myhill got a touch to take the ball off the striker's toes, City never really cleared the danger and eventually the ball dropped to Andy Reid who drilled a low shot into the far corner of the net to make it 2-1 to The Black Cats . Sunderland made it 3-1 on 67 minutes, a failed offside trap allowed Darren Bent to canter into the area and finish low past Myhill.
City should have had a penalty when,Kevin Kilbane's header struck Cana's hand, but the referee failed to see the offence. On 75 minutes Former Hull player Turner Rose home to head in a corner. 4-1 and game well and truly over
