Hull head to Molineux this weekend looking for their 1st away win of the campaign , however it wont be easy against a Wovles team who haven't looked out of their depth in their opening three games. Ahead of the game we asked Wolves fan Chris Hughes a few questions regarding the match, the league and his team.
Firstly How long have you
supported Wolves and why did you choose them?
I've
supported Wolves since I first got into football at around 3 years old
due to my Uncle buying me my first Wolves kit. I went to my first game
at 6 and have had a season ticket since I was 7. This season will be my
18th as a season ticket holder at Molineux.
Who do you consider your star player?
Over
the last couple of seasons our star players have been winger Michael
Kightly and striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, but on the early showings of
this season that could change. Michael Mancienne is a fantastic
centre-half who we've been lucky enough to get in on-loan from Chelsea
this season and our new central midfield signing Nenad Milijas looks a
class act, who could be a big influence on games once he's used to the
tempo of the Premier League.
Are you happy with strength
of your squad for the coming season?
I'm
fairly happy with the squad, but I still feel we could do with more
competition in the holding midfield area for Karl Henry, and possibly
another centre-half could strengthen us. We've been unfortunate to have
injury problems hit us hard to key players already this season, but
when those players return I think we can be a tough challenge for most
teams outside the 'Big Five' this season.
After losing 2 of your opening 3 games did you think you would start the season
better?
Not
really. Although we've lost two games out of three, one of those was at
Eastlands against a Man City side looking to impress their home fans in
their first game there since the summer spending spree. As it was, we
came away with a battling 1-0 defeat. The opening game against West Ham
was a disappointment as we were the better side for much of the game,
only to be undone by a couple of naive mistakes from a young team
making their debut at this level. However, I was only expecting two
points from the first three games in the form of draws with West Ham
and Wigan, so to have 3 points despite missing 6 to 8 players over the
course of the 3 games, while putting in some very competitive
performances has left me looking forward optimistically to the rest of
the season.
What do you think the score will be when the teams meet on Saturday?
I think 2-1 to Wolves. I think the key for us will be limiting the influence of Stephen Hunt.
Which player in the
Hull side do you think will cause your side problems?
Stephen Hunt. Twice last season he caused us problems with Reading, especially from his set-piece delivery.
How do you think the top 4 will finish in the premiership this season?
Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City.
Who do you think will be relegated this season from the Premiership?
Burnley, Birmingham, Portsmouth. As bad as you finished last season, I think you'll be safe this time too.
Finally if you could have any rival premiership player in your side who would it be?
Cesc Fabregas.
Tigers Tales would like to thank Chris for his time and answering our question we wish him and Wolves good luck for the season . Except for in the games against Hull Of Course.
