Fagan Ready To Fight For Place
By Eye Of The Tiger
July 3 2009
Striker Craig Fagan has vowed he is ready to fight for a place in the starting line-up next season. Hull have been linked with Bids For Aston Villa's Marlon Harewood and Marc Marc-Antoine Fortune and are close to signing Frazier Campbell and Fagan knows he can't let his personal standards slip next season.

Fagan Told The Hull Daily Mail: "It doesn't bother me one bit if we bring in new players, it shouldn't bother anyone.

"If you're doing better than the person that's come in, then you'll be playing in the team.

"That's the challenge that you have to welcome and it can only benefit the squad with competition for places.

"From training during the week to performances on a Saturday, it should bring out the very best in you.

"If we are improving all over the squad then we can become a Premier League side for a long, long time.

"Being in the Premier League you get linked with everyone but it's exciting.

"When I first arrived here in League One, who'd have thought that we'd be getting linked with Michael Owen and players of that calibre?

"It just goes to show how far this club has come but everyone here wants to be part of where it's going.

"We've been linked with so many players this summer that you don't take anything too seriously until you see the player in the changing room."
