Sunderland v Hull Report: Cisse Downs Limp Tigers

Hull continued there free fall down the table with another defeat against relegation rivals. Hull lost 1-0 to Sunderland at The Stadium Of Light on Saturday afternoon, a result which leaves them 3 points off the drop with 5 games left.

Hull had the first chance of the game in the second minute as Geovanni delivered from the left, but it was just too high for Manucho. Myhill was then called into the action, first claiming bravely at the feet of Grant Leadbitter and then racing out of his area to prevent Djibril Cisse getting on the end of a through ball. A decent spell of City pressure in the 23rd minute ended with Geovanni's looping volley dropping just over the bar.Hull went close again when Kilbane's header was saved by Craig Gordon. Dispite Hull having much of the play in the 1st half Sunderland found an opener in added on time at the end of the first half, Cisse nodded home after The Tigers failed to deal with a sunderland Corner

Half Time: Hull 0-1 Sunderland

Sunderland came out for the second half looking to put Hull out of Site but fortunately for Hull Myhill was on hand to deny Cisse. Sunderland had a goal disallowed on 48 minutes, Andy Reid nodded the ball back to cisse but the asistant referee deamed it was offside. Hull came back into the game and were unlucky not to be level when George Boateng hit a shot just wide. Back came Sunderland and Andy reid again was involved this time firing a shot over. Hull's final effort of the game came when Sam Rickeets crosses for Folan but his header went wide. Sunderland nearly made it two in the final moments of the game When Daryl Murphy hit the post . The result leaves Hull just 3 points above the relegation zone with only 5 games left to play. Sunderland an breathe a bit easier although their themselves are far from safety.
