Stoke Move Closer To Nigerian Striker Deal
By Cliff
November 8 2011
Stoke are close to clinching the signing of giant VVV Venlo striker Michael Uchebo after news broke that the Potters were interested in the player last week.

Now the latest reports say that the deal has moved into an advanced stage.

The 21-year-old Nigerian comes to the end of his current contract next summer and it looks highly likely that a cut price deal may be done in January rather than let him go for nothing in the summer.

The 6'5" striker is set to travel to the UK in the coming weeks for talks with Potters boss Tony Pulis.

VVV chairman Hai Berden confirmed that discussions were ongoing between the two clubs, telling De Telegraaf: "In regards to the transfer of Uchebo to Stoke City, we are at an advanced stage.

"But there is a possibility that they will get him on loan."
