Stoke's young player of the season Ryan Shawcross will join his team mates at the Emirates Stadium for the first time on Sunday with more than just getting 3 points on his mind. As Stoke are set to play there first game at one of the newest all seater stadium in Europe, the Stoke defender is out to proove to Wenger that he is no thug.
Despite some bookies paying out after our 3-1 loss to Bolton, and the 'all the new teams will go down' approach many pundits had, Stoke go into tomorrow's game already safe and relishing another season in the top flight. Against all odd's Stoke City have survived and look set to send out a statement of intent this Bank Holiday Weekend.

As i think we all know Stoke play a physical game and out muscle many opponents, and some dont like it..... well Arsene Wenger didn't. When Stoke and Arsenal met in December both Adabayor and Walcott left the Britannia field injured following challenges from Ryan Shawcross and Rory Delap respectively.

Post match interviews see Wenger brand Stoke as 'Tough Guys' and 'Thugs', and whilst we have had our critics regarding us being one dimensional and reliant on 'that' throw... this one hurt the most. The Arsenal manager had seen his side lose 2-1 before launching the attack mainly on defender Ryan Shawcross.

Speaking with press recently Ryan explained

"It is not nice when someone calls you a cheat, a bully or a thug. I have only had a couple of yellow cards this season and so I cannot be that much of a dirty player. It was not that bad a challenge against Arsenal that day, and people forget Adebayor's challenge on me. I will just go down there and try to prove I am a good player and, like everybody else, try to play well in front of a good team."
