Lawrence suffered the injury at home by tripping over his Labrador last week, When speaking with the press Liam expressed his concerns and discomforts the injury is causing him.

"I've turned an ankle before and been out for just a couple of weeks, but this one feels different to anything I've had before. We'll probably give it a few more days' treatment to see if it improves, but if not then I'll go for another scan to see if there's something else in there. It seems to be taking longer to get right than these things should. I'm usually a decent healer, but this is slow and it's killing me. I'm sick of going to the gym every day, not being able to train properly and missing the other lads with all their banter.''

Surely Liam, after falling over your dog its best you are missing the banter!

Lawrence who previously played in the Premiership with Sunderland is looking forward to the Tottenham game and hopes time is on his side and he recovers for the big bottom of the table clash at the Britannia Stadium.

"I desperately want to be there because it's such a massive, massive game for us and I want to play my part. I've just got to get fit, get back in the Stoke team and then make sure my form turns around again so I can show people just what I can do, like I did last year and the year before that. We are trying desperately for the Spurs game, but we'll have to wait and see."
