By Wayne Shingler June 18 2008 Bolton have today finalised the deal for Birmingham’s Fabrice Muamba for an initial fee of £5million then another £750,000 in add-ons. Muamba came up through the Arsenal youth system before initially joining blues on loan from the gunners. He then went on to sign for blues for around £3millon.
Muamba played 34 times for the Blues while he was on loan. He then went on to sign for the boys in royal blue who then went on to play another 37 games scoring 2 goals in the process.
Muamba made his England Under-21 debut in the friendly match against Romania in August 2007. Since then he has become a regular at the under 21 level knocking up another 6 appearances.
