David Moyes has spoken of his frustration after Everton's first goalless draw of the season.
The Blues missed the opportunity to move level with Liverpool and Aston Villa on 51 points following the stalemate at Molineux.
A Louis Saha strike which struck the crossbar in the opening period was the closest the Toffees came to breaking the deadlock - on an afternoon when Villa were heavily defeated at Chelsea.
Moyes said "We're disappointed and I thought we'd done enough to take more from the game, but Wolves are on a good run. We had to try and get the goal, but we couldn't.
"It was a very difficult pitch to play football on, but I thought we tried to do that and we created enough chances to get more from the game than we did.
"We tried to pass it in midfield under the circumstances and we did have opportunities but just couldn't finish them."
Despite being able to find the net, the Blues boss was satisfied with the contribution at the other end of the field as the side racked up their third clean sheet in a row.
"The defensive part of the side was very good and we managed to restrict Wolves to very few opportunities in the whole game.
"I don't think Tim Howard had any saves to make and I thought Sylvain Distin and Phil Jagielka were very good today."
CLEAN SHEETS IMPORTANT:
Everton manager David Moyes also spoke about how crucial it is for the Toffees not to concede goals.
The Blues stopped Wolves from scoring on Saturday - the third time in as many games they have kept Premier League opponents out.
Moyes said that victories are far more likely if the side does not ship any goals.
The Goodison chief said: "It's important to keep clean sheets in the games. I was disappointed with that earlier in the season but if we finish the season like that we have a chance of winning the games.
The recent performances are also keeping Moyes happy and it shows that morale is high at the Club, but he also felt that the stalemate at Molineux is a missed opportunity in the battle to reach Europe.
"The way we are playing at the moment is pleasing. The boys are full of confidence and looking to pass it around. The pitch didn't help them do that today. I wanted a win today and the win would have given us the chance to chase the teams above us. I feel it's two points dropped."
