Tony Parkes

Tony Parkes officially wants the 'pool job full time in what would be his first spell as a first team manager. Although he has been caretaker boss at Blackburn numerous times and is now ready to give it ago full time. You can see all his thoughts in our new feature, The Parkes Post!

Myself and Steve want the job and from our point of view the situation is black and white, If we win some games we have a chance of getting the job. If we lose some, the club will be looking for a manager from somewhere else.

So from our point it is very simple and we are going all out to try and secure this job. I'd be taking charge because you can't have a joint management team.

The players have got to know who the manager is. They've got to have someone making a definite decision. If they want to know something then they have got to know who the manager is so they can ask him. You cannot have two people looking after the team because the players wouldn't know who was really in charge.

From that point of view at the moment I am caretaker manager and Steve is assistant manager. That's how it works. Steve is a big part of this two-man team that we've got and together we hope to get some results.

Re: The Parkes Post
The timing and nature of Grayson's departure couldn't have been worse. So much for loyalty, he was out of the traps and took the Leeds rabbit like a champion greyhound. Being a supporter of his from the word go, I feel really let down. But now he's gone let's look to the future. I think KO has done the right thing by giving Parkes & Thompson a chance to prove themselves, because we want to get January out of the way. We want to see who we are left with and who to go for. With P & T in charge they will at least know where to start. Luckily we have a bit of a points cushion at the moment, which will allow some time to get things moving again. We can review the manager's position again at the end of January and go from there. I only hope the players and supporters get behind the management team and hopefully we can put all the upheaval behind us. Come on the lads.
