Parkes and Thompson took temporary charge of the Seasiders against Sheffield Wednesday coming away with a credible draw and there desire to takeover full time made public. Tony Parkes told the press following the win "Myself and Steve (Thompson) want to carry on with the results that Simon got with the players. Hopefully if that happens, there may be a chance that we get the job full-time."

To be fair it wouldn't be a bad shout hiring the pair full time, with what would be Parkes as Manager and Thompson his assistant. It would cause no upheaval and they have certainly started on the right foot by getting a draw against a team that beat us at Bloomfield Road and very rarely lose at Hillsbrough.

It did look like the seasiders may get a win after Alan Gow scored a second half penalty. The penalty come after a good spell getting forward for the seasiders, Shaun Barker, who had been getting forward all game, was brought down in the penalty area with the referee immediately pointing to the spot.

Former loan man Bartosz Slusarski brought Sheffield back into the game minutes later, he smashed the ball in from 12 yards out, following a Watson cross.

Blackpool could of took the lead in the first half, for the majority they easily dominated and then later in the game they defended well.

Kyle Reid will feel a tad unlucky not to have scored with his effort, it beat the 'keeper once but he managed to get back to tip over the bar. It should of been a goal and if it had been theres a good chance we would of won this.

Thommo and Parkes may have only been in charge for a few days but they have already started to make some decision. Graham Stack has returned to Plymouth whilst Matt Gilks has been recalled from Shrewsbury, Steve Kabba is returning to Watford, Alex John Baptiste was dropped in favour of captain Rob Edwards. Hammill and Burgess where also dropped in favour of Gow and Taylor-Fletcher.

So whilst there not be a huge upheaval there is a marked change in decision making and hopefully it can only be for the best.
