Latest on Grayson/Leeds

Is he going?
By Mike Smith
December 22 2008
Simon Grayson could be officially named as Leeds manager within hours. The Blackpool Gazette is reporting that Simon Grayson and chairman Karl Oyston are "locked in talks" about his future and the Gazette also goes onto report that a "compensation figure has been agreed and that Grayson has been given permission to talk to Leeds".

Although the official site is now reporting an official approach has been rejected which could mean Blackpool are holding out for more compensation.

At the moment Grayson is still officially Blackpool manager, even signing autographs at todays signing session at the club shop but betting has been suspended on him joining Leeds United and Ken Bates is said to be "determined" to make an appointment before Tuesday.

Leeds have money to spend in January and it's crucial they appoint Larry before the transfer window opens if they are going to push on for the promotion in the second half of the season.

There's a lot of mixed reports at the moment so it will be interesting to see what happens.

As always stay tuned for more.

Sorry to bother you - but obviously there's loads of speculation going on and who knows what is going to happen. I just wondered what you guys actually think of Grayson? Regardless of what happens I have stacks of family in Blackpool and I wish you guys all the best smiling smiley

Re: Latest on Grayson/Leeds
Simon is the best manager we've had since Billy Ayres.

it will be a shame to see him go he still has a lot to offer us. What's going to happen I don't know, nothings ever simple with Blackpool FC and always gives our rivals ammunition to wind us up.

Going to leeds is a backwards step in the short term, but if there is money there like mike says then theres a good chance leeds could be playing blackpool in the championship.

So in the long term its a good move should he get them promoted
