Injury Blow For Pool

Blackpool have announced that midfielder Jermaine Wright will be out of action for up to 4 months after having to have an operation on a Achilles injury

Wright, 32, picked up the injury while playing in the 3-1 defeat to Sheffield United and had only played a few games before that and looked to be a tidy player which Pool fans were starting to enjoy watching.

But the news he will be out for 3-4 months will leave fans having to wait till the new year to see him play and could be longer as his fitness level will have taken a tumble.

Blackpool were rocked with injury last season when Ian Evatt, Keith Southern and Michael Jackson were all sidelined for a period of time during the season

"It's a major blow for us because Jermaine had started the season very well and was one of the key performers in the first two league matches of the season against Bristol City and Norwich," said boss Simon Grayson.

"He will be out for at least three or four months and it's not good news either for the club or for the player himself. We're very disappointed but it's just one of those things, pure bad luck."

Wright was one of the first of the 13 players brought into the Blackpool side by Grayson in the summer on a free. He played 3 games against Bristol, Norwich  and Sheffield Utd before being sidelined for his return to St Marys

Everyone at Tangerine-Planet, Sport Network and ofcourse all the Blackpool Fans would like to send our get well wishes to Wright and hope he has a speedy recovery
