Simon Grayson's men returned to triumphantly to an half-full Bloomfield Road this Saturday. Rob Edwards retained the captains armband, despite a return for Shaun Barker. Former Sheffield United player Steve Kabba made his full debut for the Seasiders, scoring Blackpool's only goal.

During the first half Blackpool held there own despite a deflated atmosphere. The first real chance from Blackpool came through Steve Kabba who was forever present in this game. He flicked the ball over one of there players to force a save from Paddy Kenny who did his best to wind up the lads in the north stand.

The game at this point was been played in midfield, with United operating a good counter attacking style, which seemed to suit there front men brilliantly and it worked well on the 21st minute. They picked the ball up and passed it on before Henderson squared it to Stephen Quinn who put the ball into the back of the net.

The game seemed to go stale after this with no real chances from either side, both sets of fans were quiet at this point and the only real chance for Blackpool was through an Adam Hammill shot. The highly talented winger skimmed through the opposition defence before unleashing a shot straight at Paddy Kenny and then moments later he did it again.

10 Minutes into the second half, the referee made a shocking penalty decision; despite the fact nobody appeared to shout for it. Apparently Shaun Barker had dragged back Ugo Ehiogu, Gary Speed took the conversion to put Sheffield two up.

The rhythm of the game changed once again at this point and United nearly made it three, but Rachubka tipped the cross-come-shot over.

Blackpool's only moment of glory came on the 74th moment, Steve Kabba grabbing his first ever Blackpool goal. The move started with Mo Camera who whipped it in to Kabba who then smashed the ball past Kenny.

The crowd was lifted but Sheffield's momentum carried forth, and a third goal was smashed in four minutes later, Greg Halford picked up the ball before smashing it home with his right foot.
