Murphy's Watch 001

What a Legend!

It's time for a new feature here on Tangerine-Planet.co.uk, well an old idea that's taken us two years to start. Named after Seasiders Legend John Murphy. Murphy's Watch will take us around the UK taking a look at a select number of former Seasiders.

Peter Clarke

Peter Clarke took on the hardest club in the world this weekend as Southend took on Millwall. The game ended 1-1 with Peter putting in an "OK performance". Some fans were angered "because of his hoofing" something he did all game. At least he's found a way to distribute the thing now!

Wes Hoolahan

Wes Hoolahan of course came up against the club that brought him to the big time and fired the spotlight at him. With big expectations once again Wes failed to deliver. Missing an open net and failing to produce a ball of real quality. However Norwich awarded him man of the match, purely to spite us.

Kaspars Gorkss

Kaspars is getting grief already at QPR. He's been called "Dire" and all sorts down south and hasn't impressed in his first three games. Goes to show that the grass isn't always greener, but question is would you have him back? I'd have to say no.

Andy Morrell

Andy scored in his first team debut you for Bury this weekend. The likable striker who left Blackpool after failing to secure a new deal, slotted home a 40th minute goal. The striker casually took it down the middle of the goal after a good ball was played through to him.

John Hills

John was sent off for our fish loving brothers at Fleetwood. The left back although impressive going forward for the Cod Heads, but saw red after tussling with a Hyde United player. In the process conceding a penalty. Fleetwood were 3-2 up at this stage but soon enough it was 5-3 to Hyde and many blame John Hills!

The Wrap Up!

That's all for this addition folks! But don't worry if you former favourite players aren't doing as well as expected. It's quite common for mediocre players to perform in a strong unit of quality players and at the end of the day, medals or no medals they will always be able to tell there kids how they played for the mighty!

Re: Murphy's Watch 001
Very harsh, Steve. There are a lot of Pool fans who think he should have stayed, me being one of them. Especially since we didn't get Dickov, we needed an experienced striker, and now he has gone, it is a very youthful strike force.

Hopefully, us giving them Morrell will pave the way for Andy Bishop to come to us instead.

Think he should have stayed because you like him or because he is good enough?

I'm thinking the first one, we all seemed to like him but he isnt championship standard so it was right for him too move on.
