By Paddy July 20 2008 Blackpool have clinched Adam Hammill from Liverppol on a 6 month loan deal, expiring on January 1st. The winger may be seen as the short term replacement for Wes Hoolahan, and hopefully his performances will allow the fans to take to him just as well as they did to the Irishman.
Hammill has been the subject of a number of club's attention, including rival Championship clubs. By managing to clinch this deal, Pool boss Simon Grayson has proved that he is capable of attracting good players to the club, and getting them ahead of other clubs.
Hammill is a left winger, who is yet to break into the Liverpool first team, but with the departure of Harry Kewell last term, he is expected to be much closer to the first team in the coming seasons. Fans of the Merserside club are advocates of giving Hammill his chance in the first team, and his performances in previous loan spells at Dunfermline and Championship rivals Southampton have done nothing but improve his chances.
On signing the 20 year old, Grayson said "I'm pleased to get him because there was a lot of competition for his signature, and the lad was desperate to come here, which is good."
Blackpool fans can only hope that his despeartion will be shown on the pitch with good performances.
