Is Gorkss destined for the door?

London bound?
By Paddy July 7 2008
Blackpool's 'duel' with QPR over Kaspars Gorkss goes on! After statements made by both clubs, stating that the other is wrong, have been released, Pool fans are still in the dark about their international centre half's future, After match saving performances last year, Blackpool will be desperate to save their Latvian talisman

The war between north and south rages on. However, a more adequate way to put it would either be Rich Vs Poor, or Relegation battle Vs Near certain promotion. Blackpool’s desperation to hold on to their prize assets charges into it’s second week, as reports from the south say it’s done, but the north say that Kaspars Gorkss most definitely has not left the Seaside.

Reports came out of QPR on Thursday, stating that they had already agreed terms with their club, and a fee had been agreed between the 2 clubs. This coming just days after Pool chairman Karl Oyston fell just short of throwing 2 fingers up at QPR, stating to Radio Lancashire “I don’t mind where he goes, as long as it isn’t Queens Park Rangers”.

Since the reports from the London club, who could surely afford to buy even better, the Seasider’s response is outrage, led once ore by Oyston, rubbishing claims that Gorkss had agreed terms, stating that, have already been reported to the FA, QPR continued to show a blatant disrespect for the laws of the game in their attempts to sign the Latvian.

However, the writing seems to be on the wall, and it seems that nothing will stop the big centre half from leaving, after the chairman himself left a £250,000 release clause. Speculation seems to have already started on his replacement; with former skipper Peter Clarke looking favourite, but whether the fans would welcome a return is debatable.
