Grayson gets his man
After ensuring the signings of Marlon Broomes and Alex Baptiste, Blackpool boss Simon Grayson has gone on to clinch the signing that the fans have wanted since a certain number 11 left the club. An excellent pedigree, as an England youth international, and an excellent reputation with the fans, after an impressive turnout last year, Tottenham midfielder Joe Martin is likely to be a fantastic addition to the squad
The left sided player, who earned rave reviews for performances in the reserves, has made one senior league appearance, which came in the Tangerine shirt. He came in for Stuart Green on the final day of the season, and the versatile youngster made a big impression, putting in a good performance and making the fans mind up, that this lad was one they wanted to see back on loan next season.
Skipper Simon Grayson, however, went one better. After shocking us all with the news that he had agreed a fee with Spurs, suddenly, the thought of a young prospect honouring a 2 year contract with the option of a third, is something that will calm down the doubters after a slow start to the close season on the transfer front.
Blackpool will now continue their search for new players, but the thoughts of Joe Martin’s brother David joining on a years loan from Liverpool as a back-up goalkeeper have died down, after Matthew Gilks signed as part of the Wes Hoolahan deal with Norwich.
