Gilks arrives/Wes Leaves

Gone To Norwich! Bye!
By Rocky64 June 29 2008
This week saw Wes Hoolahans move to Norwich City finally confirmed. We revealed the transfer some time ago but complications involving FIFA and Scottish club Livingston delayed the deal. Now Blackpool are in reciept of £250,000 which they recieved for the player and a 'keeper who comes as part of the deal.

The deal, is quite clever, depending on how Norwich value Gilks the deal could be worth much more. It's a clever way of playing the system especially if Livingston are awarded cash from the deal. We're safe in the knowlege that we have a new 'keeper and if he's any good we can sell him for a few quid and make up for the loss.

But away from the politics of football and this deal in question and I have to say well done Blackpool. Okay, Matt Gilks  may not have had the most brilliant career at Norwich. In fact he didn't start a game. But at Rochdale he played nearly 200 games and kept a clean sheet in quiet a few aswell.

Gilks will be there to provide competition for Paul Rachukuba although Gilks's former boss believed he can expell Rachukuba from that position. He's signed a two year deal with an option for another. One last position for Larry to fill and hopefully a very good signing.

Welcome Gilksy!
