Hoolahan is off!

Well with it now almost confirmed that midfielder Wes Hoolahan and Latvian defender Kaspars Gorkss are leaving the club. We thought we'd take a look at whats stopping the deals being completed. Both deals are likely to be completed at £250k each due to there release clauses, but as always things may take a turn yet again.

We'll start with Gorkss, Kaspars is rumoured to have signed for QPR. However Blackpool are adamant that there has been no official approach for him and that QPR are guilty of tapping him up and illegal practises. Now the matter will be dealt with by the football league who could punish QPR from registering the player as one of there own.

Although personally who would have a player; who wants to leave back? I'm afraid it's a lose lose situation for Blackpool and just to think, had our chairman not fell in love with the release fee clauses; this wouldn't of happened.

Now onto Wes his move to Norwich City is being held up by FIFA according to recent reports. The news that Wes Hoolahan had signed for Norwich City, was of course broken here first. But because of last years Wes sage remaining unresolved and in the hands of FIFA it means we have yet another Wes Saga.

The issue is that FIFA have yet to decide if Blackpool should pay more compensation then the £75,000 transfer fee that's already been paid.

Former Livingston Director Maurice Smith told the press "The final decision on whether any compensation should be paid by Blackpool to Livingston over and above the sum that they have already paid (£75,000) is still with Fifa."

He added "My understanding is that until Fifa come to a conclusion Blackpool can't sell Hoolahan unless they settle something with Livingston, so it's not as clear cut as a typical transfer. What they could do is go to Livingston and say we're selling Wes Hoolahan and you'll get x per cent or x thousand pounds if you drop the case."

It's a very odd situation with QPR rumoured to be wanting to make a £375k bid, should the deal not go ahead. As always the best place for all the latest is here on Tangerine-Planet sop stay tuned!
