Wes to the Addicks?
According to reports in the Blackpool Gazette, Alan Pardew "is gearing up for an official bid" meaning Blackpool could be about to lose there star man, especially if they meet the 250k release clause he currently has in his contract.
The one incentive for 'pool to flog Wes, is that he has only 12 months remaining on his current deal and if a new deal can't be worked out. He will be able to leave on a free leaving Blackpool out of pocket.
Burnley are also said to be ready to make a bid for a Blackpool player. But instead of Wes they're chasing Kaspars. Burnley are our favourites to sign the player should he decide to go and with a release clause in his contract he could also leave below Blackpool FC's valuation of the player.
On the Seasiders search for a striker, it seems that recently released, former Bristol City striker, Darren Byfield is a target for Simon Grayson. Grayson has missed out on his signature before, but he is known to be quite loyal to his targets and to keep going in for them until he has them tied down to a Blackpool deal. (EG. Stuart Green!)
Byfield scored eight championship goals for Bristol City last season and was released following Play Off final failure against Hull City. Hull won the game 1-0 thanks to a brilliant goal by Dean Windass.
