POTS Award Results

Clean Sweep for Stephen
By Rocky64 May 7 2008
Last night saw the player of awards event, due to the stupid way the club run the event. We was unable to report and therefore unable to give you a live report from the event. However we have received a list of awards and there winners which you can see in this little article.

The big winner was Stephen Crainey who scooped five awards to which he said he "delighted and hugely honoured" to have won. The 26 year old was the only player to win a player of the season award other then fellow defender Kaspars Gorkss.

Meanwhile Danny Mitchley won BSA young player of the season and the Chris Muir Memorial Trophy. On the subject of the BSA award, I would like to discover how they vote on such an award. Having been to a dozen reserve and youth team games this season, I have to say I haven't seen a committee member present at any of the ones I have attended.

Wilf Brooks won fan of the season, in it's first year as an official award. Last season we organized the vote and Drummer Hoggy won with Wilf coming 3rd. This season though he won enough votes to deservedly win the award.

Ben Burgess received an award in celebration of finishing top scorer whilst Paul Dickov who unable to attend won goal of the season.

The full list of winners is as follows

FULL LIST OF WINNERS
Yorkshire Seasiders - Kaspars Gorkss
Tango top goalscorer - Ben Burgess
BSA young player - Danny Mitchley
PDI goal of the season - Paul Dickov (v Hull)
Leyland & Chorley Seasiders - Stephen Crainey
Champagne moment - Wes Hoolahan (v Preston)
BBC Radio Lancs player of the season - Stephen Crainey
Blackpool Fan of the Season - Wilf Brooks
BSA player of the season - Stephen Crainey
Players player - Stephen Crainey
