Still in the mire-Grayson

Simon Grayson spoke to the official site following Saturday's 2-1 over relegation rivals Sheffield Wednesday. Now because of the points we've picked up, Safety is more or less probable however Simon Grayson is not getting complacent and believe "we are not out of the mire yet"

The win lifts Blackpool to 16th in the league, two points below West Lancashire rivals Preston and four points below 22nd placed Sheffield. If Sheffield lose there next game it would mean, that mathematically we are safe from relegation. A win would seal survival even if they won and if Blackpool draw as well as Sheffield then we would still be safe.

However Simon Grayson believes that his side are not safe yet and must continue to pick up points. Grayson said "We are not out of the mire yet, this is a crazy division and we will have to watch all the teams around us. But we have had a poor run of late and have not won for eight games."

Grayson admits he's unhappy with his defense, who played to deep for his liking although he is happy with the much needed win. He said "This was one we really needed although I am not too happy with my defense, who played far too deep in the second half and allowed Sheffield to come at us with a late flurry of pressure."

Personally I'd like to see us try and bring all three points at Plymouth and then we can go into the Watford game with no pressure on our shoulders and just enjoy the game and let the players have the heroes reception that they deserve. However if it goes down to the last game there will be a very intense and nervous atmosphere rather then the party atmosphere we'd like.  Mathematically we can still finish higher then Preston. But lets concentrate on securing our place in this league first!
