Blackpool's lack of Celebrity Support

Who would you adopt?
By Rocky64 March 21 2008
Something that always amazed me is the lack of "celebrity fans" that follow the Seasiders. I mean Local rivals Burnley have numerous celebrity fans. Mind you with only one gene pool they probably all have the celebrity gene. But with so much history isn't it time we had a 'Hollywood' fan?

When you see these celebs on Soccer AM who don't follow a football team, I always think, please be Blackpool out of the hat because we must be the least celeb supported team in the championship. Which is strange because Blackpool at the end of the day is the home of great theartres and great shows. But we don't really have any celeb fans.

What we do have is The Nolans who infamously recorded that song or rather screech "The Blackpool Song" as fans. If that wasn't tinsel town enough former England Rugby man Bill Beaumont is said to be a fan along with comedian Mick Miller.

But there not on the terraces every week like Danny Dyer is for his beloved West Ham or Frank Skinner and Alistar Campbell at Burnley. Plus the Blackpool "celeb fans" are not exactly celebs you'd hunt down for there autograph, unless you was a massive stalker.

I don't know why it bothers me, but it does. Maybe it's time we go to the celebrity. Maybe it's time we adopt a celebrity fan which we can truly call Hollywood. If you could adopt a celebrity fan, who would you pick?
