New Contract?
Jackson now 34, helped skipper the side to promotion last season and has been an important member of the team at times this season to. But he feel's he still has a few more years in him and although he doesn't want to go on forever, he feels a lot younger then he actually is.
Talking to the Blackpool Gazette he said "I might be 34 but I feel a lot younger and that's what is important. I don't want to be one of these players who thinks they can carry on forever. I will know when the time is right to finish and pack it in and hopefully move into management."
Speaking about the life left in his ageing legs he said "At this moment in time I know my legs haven't gone and that I can still do a job in the Championship."
He later added "I still think I'm a decent player with plenty to offer. I think myself, Kaspars and Ian Evatt have had a real good battle over the centre half shirts this year and if I was to be offered another deal I know that will be the case next season."
Jacko is currently out with a hamstring injury, the third player at the club to have picked one up in recent weeks. But everything going to plan and he should be back for the game against West Brom.
Claus Jorgenson also feel's he deserves a contract, he turns 32 next month by feel's he's playing his best football of his career. Speaking also to the Blackpool Gazette he said "My contract is about to run out and obviously something has to be sorted. The closer it gets to the end of the season you are thinking 'what's going to happen'."
Jorgenson also made clear his intention to stay at the seaside next season he said. "But it's the same story every season, you have to get safe and then see what happens. I definitely want to stay here. You really feel part of it. The dressing room and the atmosphere is brilliant and the other thing is that the grass isn't always greener on the other side."
