Blackpool have secured the loan services of yet another forward, this time it's long term target Grant Holt. The front man joins on loan until the end of the season, from League 1 club Nottingham Forest but fans are asking is this the end for Dickov?
Blackpool have secured the loan services of yet another forward, this time it's long term target Grant Holt. The front man joins on loan from Nottingham Forest but is this the end for Dickov?

Grant Holt signs on loan until the end of the season and will take up the number 26 shirt. Holt may make his 'pool debut as early as this Saturday; when the Seasiders take on Stoke City.

However some fans are starting to speculate that striker Paul Dickov has returned back to Eastlands after a falling out with Simon Grayson. But these rumours have been quashed by Simon Grayson when he told the Blackpool Gazette "I have enquired about Grant over the last year or so and I just decided it was the right time to try and bring another body in."

When asked if the signing was to with Dickov's injury he replied, "It's not really because of Paul Dickov's injury. It's just that we can't afford to take any chances with players, because suddenly the window shuts next week and you can get a couple of injuries and you're struggling. We have to cover all eventualities and we decided it was a good opportunity to bring him here."

Holt scored 17 Goals for Nottingham Forest last season, but has failed to recreate the same form this term. However Simon Grayson's a keen admirer and will no doubt bring out the best in him. 

It's obvious Larry's brought him here as cover for other players, to see how he does in training and to see if he can hack this level. This is more or less an extended trial for the forward and will hope to impress because if he does there is a chance the forward could be here next season. With Dickov and Parker off in the summer and the possibility that Morrell will follow suit. Larry seem's to be putting his plans in place for next season.
