Letter on the "Racism"
By Rocky64 March 20 2008
So nine fans have been banned for racist abuse? It would appear that the club see this as a fair punishment as would Ashley Lawrence of Kick It Out who said they "fully support the club's stance in banning the individuals involved". However I have a suggestion: why don't Seasiders' fans police themselves when such incidents occur.
If those chanting racist chants where told by other fans in a stern but fair way I'm sure they would have stopped straight away. It happens at rugby and cricket, if someone says something out of line, the other spectators ask them to stop.

If we employed this policy at Bloomfield Road, fans wouldn't be chucked out and arrested as their behaviour would stop more or less straight away.

The worst thing about all this, is that the national media were present and the whole thing will be blown up huge.

This will force The FA into action, even if the referee's report doesn't. The main thing is to never let this happen again and let's start rebuilding our reputation before we embaress ourselves further.

No matter what your politics are, don't attach them to football as you only hurt the thing we love most.
