Blackpool FC News Round

Police turn to PNE!
By Rocky64 March 19 2008
Well it's that time of the week for the Blackpool FC News Round Up. Where we go all John Craven and give you a round up of the news in the five minutes. Not a complete suprise, but there is yet more fall out from Saturday's game. Which was blighted with racist and homophobic chants.

Well earlier this week nine Blackpool fans were banned from Bloomfield Road for there part in the racist chanting and more fans are also said to be facing a ban as the Police continue to review the CCTV.

But after recieving complaints about the homophobic nature of some jibes aimed towards the Blackpool fans, by Preston fans, the Police in co-operation with Blackpool FC and Preston North End; will now study CCTV to see if the guilty parties can be identified. If that happens then fully expect several more bans from both Deepdale and Bloomfield Road.

Meanwhile Police (Busy week for them) have allowed all-ticket restrictions for Saturday's clash with Stoke City to be lifted. This is a boost for Seasiders fan who are expected to travel in numbers to Staffordshire for the game.

Those wanting to go do not fear, Fylde Coast Seasiders are running a coach, details can be found if you click here

Striker Paul Dickov should return from a hamstring injury next Saturday if not in time for this Saturday, for the game against Stoke. Kieth Southern remains a doubt though. On there injuries Grayson told the Blackpool Gazette "Keith is in the same boat as Paul Dickov really, His hamstring isn't right so he missed out against Preston as well. He suffered the injury at QPR but we don't think it is too serious because he hasn't torn his hamstring - it is just a slight strain."

He added"He isn't going to be out for long and maybe he'll be back for the weekend but I don't know. We'll assess it but like any hamstring problem there is no point taking any risk because if you play when you're not completely ready then you will only make it worse and be out for the rest of the season."

Finally congratulations to defender Stephen Crainey who made it in to the team of the week following his performance against Preston North End.
