Nine Fans banned
By Rocky64 March 18 2008
Following the clubs announcement that nine fans have been banned for there part in Saturday's racist abuse. Tangerine-Planet.co.uk has been speaking to Ashley Lawrence, one of the people behind the Kick It Out Campaign, about Saturday's racist chanting.

We asked him about Saturday's incident and if he felt the bans were the correct punishment. Here is his response "With regards to this incident specifically, we would echo the sentiments expressed by Blackpool's chairman, Karl Oyston, and fully support the club's stance in banning the individuals involved. We received a number of complaints regarding Saturday's game, and are concerned that such incidents continue to occur in the English game."

After some concern by some gans about the homophobic nature of chants directed at Blackpool fans. We asked if homophobic chants are as bad as racist chants. Ashley Lawrence told us "Offensive chants of any sort, be they racist, sexist or homophobic, must not be tolerated, and every club has a responsibility to remain vigilant and continue to help create a welcoming and accepting atmosphere."
