Nine Banned from Bloomfield!

'Ello! 'Ello!
By Rocky64 March 17 2008
Saturday's game with Preston North End was dogged with controversy after Blackpool fans chanted racist songs. Now police have identified nine fans they wish to ban from Bloomfield Road and more exclusion orders could follow. With the club still studying CCTV and The FA still to read the referee's and accesors report.
FA action is likely to take place with a fine likley but a points deduction is unlikley because the club have taken a pro-active approach to stopping further racist incidents happening. The last time Blackpool were involved in a racist incident; is when similar chants were sung to Oldham fans at Bloomfield Road a few seasons ago. Landing Blackpool in bother with The FA then.

There has been no word on the length of the ban for these nine fans, however all exclussion orders are usually subject to review at the end of the season. For those wandering, these bans are different to those handed out in court as civil action is been took rather then criminal action.

The two arrested for racism on Saturday will end up with a Criminal Football Banning Order, should there cases make court. The club are still said to be studying CCTV from Saturday's game and should more fans need to be excluded it is more then likely they will be.

No word yet about what is being done about the homophobic chants directed at the seasiders by our small club rivals Preston Nob End.
