Tangerine-Planet has ran numerous campaigns in the past, some successful others forgotten but our latest one is the most ambitious. We want to raise 10k for 2010. That's just under two years away and why? To help the Blackpool School of Excellence.

The School of Excellence has in the past brought through players such as John Hills, Matty Blinkhorn, Simon Wiles and at one time Jimmy Armfield along with many others. But this has all been done on a shoe string budget which is why we want to help.

10K would go a hell of a long way! It would help fund equipment and improve facilities. It's a relativley small figure in the grand scheme of things but when things are budgetted to the max, an unbudgetted donation of 10k is a great help.

The money may only be used on Equipment and Upgrading Facilities, we don't want this money to be used on Wages for YTS players or Coaching Staff. We will also be approaching Mr Oyston Snr and Jnr and asking them to match what we raise and donate it as we shall.

We aim to raise the cash by running a string of events for fans, we'll also be asking Blackpool Fans for donations (We may even get the buckets out!) as well as writing to companies asking them to support the campaign and donate also.

For the campaign we've enlisted the service of Derek Woodman BMW Financial Director John Woodman. John is a lifelong fan and a sponsor of the club he will be looking after the financial side of the operation and offering support to the campaign.

Speaking about the Campaign John said "It's great to be helping such a good cause, The School of Excellence is a valuable tool in finding players who will eventually come through the ranks to the first team." He added, "This is an ambitious campaign and I urge fans to support such a great cause".
