Earnshaw Bid Accepted - Forest Raid 'Ram Raiders'

Earnshaw: a Red to be?
By The Daily Red May 13 2008
Arch rivals Derby County have this afternoon confirmed speculation that striker Robert Earnshaw could be heading down Brian Clough Way in a shock switch to Forest. Rumours have linked the prolific hitman with the Reds for several weeks, but now he could be just days away from a move.

Forest’s bid has been formally accepted by Derby and is around £2.5m, meaning that Derby would make a loss of over a million after signing Earnshaw for £3.6m last summer.

Despite clamour from Derby’s supporters the Welsh international striker has found first team chances hard to come by at Pride Park, and a switch to the City Ground could be what it takes to get his career back on track.

Earnshaw, who is also being tracked by Sheffield United, will speak to Forest shortly but he is currently out of the country on holiday.

The move would almost certainly see Ghana international star Junior Agogo sealing his ‘dream move’ to a higher level.

But it is the biggest transfer bid Forest have made for an exceptionally long time and fans will be hoping it is a sign of things to come from chairman Nigel Doughty.
