By Martyn Robinson
May 17 2007
CHARLTON Athletic have today relaeased Dutch International striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. He leaves after a very disapointing season with the Addicks, which saw him score only two goals in 25 Premiership appearances. His last goal coming back in January.

ABOVE: Charlton fans dejected after relegation, something which Jimmy contributed to by scoring only two goals for The Addicks.

Hasselbaink joined as Iain Dowie's first signing for the club last summer on a free transfer from the then Premiership rivals Middlesbrough, a club where he had a largely successful spell which stretched over two seasons.

Then came the form which saw him score only two goals in 25 Addicks' appearances, the last of them coming against his former side Middlesbrough at The Valley in January. Charlton lost the game 3-1.

I would say thankyou for everything you have done for us Jimmy, but in my eyes all you have done is contribute to us going down to the Coca-Cola Championship.
