THE Addicks are winless in their last six games, and have only picked up one point from the last available 12. There is also no wins on the road since the victory at Portsmouth back in Janury, the win, the only away maximum of the season.
The record book doesn't look great going in to the game either, with Charlton not scoring up at Anfield since Shaun Bartlett's winner in 2004. That was the only Charlton win at Anfield in seven league visits.
Alan Pardew's men are currently 19th in the Premiership with 33 points, and a win on Sunday would see the Addicks draw level with the previous low points total of 36, that ws recorded in the relegation season of 1998-99.
A finish of 18th would see Charlton collect approximately £1,449,000,
but if Charlton lose and the table stays as it is the Addicks will collect £966,000,
so you can see right there what Charlton still have left to play for.
Going in to the last game of the season, Charlton have lost 20 Premiership games, and only West Ham United, who sit above the relegation drop on goal difference have lost more, with 21 defeats.
Hermann Hreidarsson and Marcus Bent have been relegated from the Premiership with four different clubs, equalling the record held by Ashley Ward and Nigel Quashie, both of which can still be relegated for a fifth time this season, with West Ham.
TEAM NEWS
CHARLTON ATHLETIC:
Darren Bent will be looking to boost the Addicks in the game, the game that will almost certainly signify the end of his Charlton career, as he simply is a Premiership striker, it would take an ultimately loyal player of his quality to stay at The Valley after relegation to the second tier of English football.
Darren Randolph is set to start in place of the eneligable Scott Carson, who is on-loan from Liverpool, while Ben Thatcher returns to the squad after a ban, but Talal El Karkouri is iout through injury.
LIVERPOOL:
Liverpool will say goodbye once more to Robbie Fowler, who is being released by Rafa Benitez at the end of the season, following a highly disappointing second spell with the club.
Also leaving in the summer is Polish stopper Jerzy Dudek, but his hopes of one ls game for Liverpool are in doubt after picking up a groin injury in training. Jose Reina is also out of the game, with a shoulder problem so Daniele Padelli is set to make his debut in goal, youth team goalkeeper Dave Roberts will be bench warming for the game.
