Crystal Palace become the latest victims..

Crystal Palace
By Chopper_imp February 22 2007
Cameron Jerome scored the only goal of the game against arch rivals Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.. A crowd of only 17,233 watch the game which some call the biggest match in the league due to recent history..

Birmingham have overtaken county rivals West Brom to move up into 2nd in the Championship.

The goal came ten minutes before half time when a sublime pass from the inform Niklas Bendtner to front man Cameron Jerome managed to swing a right boot at the ball and fire it past ex Vile loanee Kiraly.

Palace almost got themselves on level terms, but only to be stopped by the post. That was the last action of the first half.

Birmingham now lay 3points behind the impressive Derby, who currently sit happy at the top of the table.. A very big up side on today, was that we now have a game in hand on Derby, so could in fact over take them and we could take our place back at the top of the pile..

Macca's Day Out In London..

Alarm going off – 7.00 already? The old man was coming to pick me up at 7.45 to take me to Redditch train station so had to get ready quite sharpish to have time to get some food to take with me. He came 5 minutes late so I was rushing when I got to the station; brought the ticket and off I went to Brum New St. My mate joined me at Northfield and we carried on the journey to New Street. Got there and we had to run up to Woolworths to get a bottle opener for our Magners which we had forgotten to bring one from home. Plenty of time to get the train but we made our way to the platform with it coming 5 minutes before it was meant to set off. A Chelsea fan and Arsenal fan sitting with us on the table on the train, turned out to be nice people who we talked to most of the journey about football until getting to Euston at 10.50. Landan we have arrived! My 1st time on my own in the big city… straight to Oxford Circus where we ‘mugged’ off the ticket inspectors on the tube when we got off at Oxford Circus as we had tickets from Euston to Victoria all included in our tickets so we blagged to him that we got off at the wrong station and he wrote something on our tickets and said go out here and come back in and the bloke will let you in.

We did as he said going out but we went out onto Oxford Street looking round the shops and having a Maccies. Back down to the tube for 12.30 and on our way To Victoria. Train to Selhurst was already there so straight onto that and into Wetherspoons for half 1 watching Arsenal – Blackburn getting the beers in. Into the game and a great atmosphere from the blues and a great result to cap it off! Back on the train for half 5ish and we made it back to Brum for 10 past 8 straight onto the Redditch train at quarter past and booom home for 9 o clock!

Great day out!

Match Ratings

Doyle - 7/10 - Was impressive when called into action and collected crosses well... Can't kick properly though like Taylor so needs to work on that.
Jaidi - 9/10 - Was a rock at the back, winning everything that came his way with no trouble.
Martin Taylor - 7/10 - Good game but Jaidi was more noticable. Did everything simple when it came to it.
N'Gotty - 7/10 - Did everything the right back needed to do. N'Gotty > Kelly to be honest.
Sadler -6/10 - Needs to work on his distribution as whenever he kicks it down the link it usually goes out for a throw in.
Clemence - 9/10 - Battled so very hard and won the battle for us..
Muamba - 7/10 - Was too deep at times but battled like clemence for the win.
Johnson - 9/10 - Proved many fans wrong yesterday - produced some good crosses from the right and was good when put into the middle.
McSheffrey - 7/10 - Man's not on form atm - hopefully he gets his form back for the massive game on Tuesday.
Jerome - 10/10 - Motm, ran alll game, and scored a wonderful goal.
Bendtner 7/10 - Lazy but when needed to create he did again creating jerome's goal.
Vine 6/10 - Looked promising when he came on and almost scored.
Larsson 6/10 - didn't have time to make an impact.
Danns 6/10 - didn't have tme to make an impact.
