Stéphane Mbia Etoundi, is the latest in a long line of rumours, linking European spot hunters Manchester City with highly rated talent accross Europe.

Mbia, 21, is a Cameroonian International and currently playes his football in France for Stade Rennais, or more commonly known as Rennes.

A host of Premiership teams are thought to be sniffing around the youngster, who Rennes are rumoured to be demanding a fee of £4 Million for, with Harry Redknapp, David Moyes and Jaunde Ramos thought to be big fans on bringing him to the Premiership.

Mbia is naturally a defensive midfielder, but can fill in at right back if needed. He first burst onto the scene in the season of 2005/06 making a handful of appearances, before going on to score his first goal for the club against Lyon in November 2006.

In the Quater Finals of the 2008 African Cup of Nations, Mbia won Cameroon their game against Tunisia, scoring two goals, one of which came deep in to extra time to send Cameroon to victory.

The links has come from this morning's (Friday) Daily Star.
