Sunderland travelled to 'The Posh' for their penultimate pre-season game to face Peterborough and ran out comfortable winners with two second half goals. The game saw first starts for new boys Lorik Cana and Fraizer Campbell.
And it was the new boys that stole the show.
Lorik Cana has an impressive game in the centre of midfield breaking up plays, and sending Sunderland on the attack with some nice one touch passing.
Fraizer Campbell also had a lively game, and got himself on the scoresheet.
The first half was a drab affair with nothing really to speak about.
The deadlock was eventually broken when a David Healy cross was turned in past his own keeper by an unfortunate Peterborough defender.
And very shortly after that the game was made all but over when Fraizer Campbell was brought down in the box and Sunderland were awarded their second penalty of the pre-season.
It was the man that won the penalty that stepped up and cooly dispatched the ball into the back of the net sending the keeper, who actually had a great game, the wrong way.
Andy Reid and Kenwyne Jones came on late into the second half and injected some life into the game, with Reid whipping in some good crosses.
Fraizer Campbell received a standing ovation from the travelling fans when substituted.
Sunderland have now won 5 out of 6 this pre-season and travel to Hearts this weekend before the Premier League campaign begins in earnest no the 15th with a trip to Bolton Wanderers.
