Sunderland sign Anton Ferdinand on a 4 year deal for a fee believed to be around £8 million.

Sunderland have completed the signing for central defender Anton ferdinand from West Ham for an undisclosed fee (believed to be around £8 million).
The under 21 centre back agreed a four year deal at SoL today which will make him Sunderlands 9th signing of the summer. And i think this is a fantastic signing for sunderland. We havent had proper CBs for a while, as well as Danny and Nyron have been doing, they both need support!
Roy Keane said that anton is a great signing for the club. He claimed it is exactly the sort of player sunderland needed, he is young but has a lot of premier league experience with over 160 under his belt.
He will bring quality and competition for places which is what i feel sunderland are desperate for in defense. With Jonny Evans going back to Man Utd it left sunderland struggling for cover. But i feel Anton ill be a first team player.
Ferdinand said that it was hard to leave West Ham because he has been there since he was 16 year old but he felt it was time for a new challenge.
Ferdinand follows Teemu Tainio, Pascal Chimbonda, Steed Malbranque, Nick Colgan, David Meyler, El-Hadji Diouf, David Healy and Djibril Cisse join Sunderland this summer.
Ferdinand isnt ready to make an immediate start at the club, he has been suffering with a hamstring strain and is likely to feature against Wigan for his debut.
