Sunderland can secure a spot in the Premier League next season if results go the right way around the league.
Manager Roy Keane has given his players a challenge ahead of todays game, he's told them to show him that they are good enough to stay on his squad next season. Keane wants a strong finish to the season so he can relax over the summer break.
Sunderland have 2 players out for todays game, Dwight Yorke and Dickson Etuhu are both injured. Yorke missed last weekends 3-1 win away to Fulham with a knee problem and Etuhu has been out for several weeks also with a bad knee.
Manchester City will be without Nedum Onuoha for the rest of this season which could leave City short of options in the center of defence.
