Sunderland Sign Halford
By Black Cats June 11 2007
Keane makes his first summer signing with Reading's Greg Halford for £3M

Roy Keane has started to strengthening Sunderland's back 4 with the signing of Reading's Greg Halford for £3m.

Halford, 22, signed a 4-year deal after completing a medical at the Academy of Light today.

The England under-20 international moved to Reading from Colchester but only played 3 times as Reading already have some strong full-backs with Graeme Murty, club captain and first choice right-back.

Halford played a impressive game against Sunderland last November dispite Colchester losing 3-1 at the Stadium of Light. He has played Portsmouth, Tottenham and Watford in the Premiership last season.
