Gills defeated in yet more away day misery

By Jack Nolan
October 25 2007

Gillingham lost their seventh away game in a row at Boundary Park following a controversial two goals to nothing defeat by Carlisle United. Gillingham caretaker manager Iffy Onuora thought his Gilllingham should have had Chris Dickson's goal given, and Carlisle's second disalowed for a foul on 'keeper Simon Royce. Ian Cox turned into his own net for Carlisle's first after failing to deal with Bridge-Wilkinson's corner. The Gills then thought they got an equaliser, only for Chris Dickson's header to be ruled out for a push on a defender, a decision that angered Onuora.

Carlisle then made sure of the result when Simon Hackney netted from long range.
