Mark Patterson back in youth team role.

By Tom George
November 28 2006

Former Gillingham defender Mark Patterson is to return to Priestfield to take up a job working at the club's academy.

Patterson, 38, a former gillingham right back and crowd favourite made 124 appearances for the club in a 5 year spell with us.

Unfortunately, many fans will remember Mark Patterson for his horrifc leg break that ruled him out for the entirity of the successful promotion season in 1999-2000.

He has quit his position among many other ex-Gills at Folkestone Invicta where he was assistant manager.

He has kept a watchful eye over luke Howell, a promising defender similar to Patterson, during his stay at the Buzzlines stadium.
